Hello Everyone!
We had a fun and busy week in Rooms 1 & 3! Thank you to everyone who made it to Portfolio Night! Students were very proud to show off all their hard work this school year. I loved hearing some of the comments students made about work they had done early in the school year, such as "I can't believe I spelled this wrong!" and "Why didn't I use any punctuation?!" They have grown so much!
Students also worked really hard on their habitat projects and had fun presenting to their classmates and doing a "Gallery Walk" to see everyone's creations! Thank you for supporting their learning in school at home as well!
Monday, June 5th is our Field Day! Students are allowed to wear athletic attire on this day.
Thursday, June 8th is our Bowling Field trip. We are still in need of chaperones for this trip, so if you are able to come we would really appreciate it! We will be leaving the school at 11:30 am for the bowling alley and returning 3:00 pm.
Park Day permission slips were sent home today. We will be walking to Dooley Park on Tuesday, June 13th. Please make sure these are turned in by Friday, June 9th.
Have a fantastic weekend!
Ms. Becky & Mrs. Fannin

Hello everyone!
First, we'd like to thank everyone who donated to our Pasta for Pennies fundraiser! We are anxiously awaiting to see how much AMA raised to help out children battling Leukemia. We couldn't have done it without all your support!
We have a couple of announcements to share with you as well! Permission slips for our next field trip (which will be to Greenfield Village) were sent home in Friday Folders today. These slips are due on May 8th. We will be taking buses on this field trip and have been notified that we are limited to 5 chaperones per room. We will accept the first 5 returned slips for these spots! Thank you for your understanding!
We also wanted to let you know that there will be no homework sent home for the remainder of the school year, except for reading logs. Please ensure your child is still reading 20 minutes nightly to retain all their hard work in reading this school year!
One other reminder is that NWEA testing is approaching. Students will be taking the reading portion of the test on May 10th and 11th and the math portion on the 17th and 18th. Please make sure your child is well rested and gets a good breakfast on these days!

Hello everyone!
March has arrived and we kicked off "March is Reading Month" with a Dr. Seuss Celebration on Thursday! We enjoyed reading Oh, the Places You'll Go and creating 3-D hot air balloons out of paper with things we want to learn, places we'd like to go, and dreams we hope to accomplish! Students practiced a Green Eggs and Ham skit with a partner, and some were brave enough to perform in front of the class!
Next week here are a couple special events to promote reading:
Monday, March 6th- "Get mixed up with a good book" Students are allowed to wear mismatched clothes to school and bring a favorite book!
Wednesday, March 8th- "Wow Wednesday" Students can bring in an extraordinary word to share with the class.
Enjoy your weekend,

We can't believe how fast winter break is approaching. Just a reminder that Friday, December 23, 2016 is a half day, and we are having our holiday party that day. A Sign Up Genius was sent out if you would like to sign up to send in any items for our party (http://www.signupgenius.com/go/20f0f4dacad2da6fa7-winter). Please contact your child's teacher if you did not receive this via email. Thank you to those who have already signed up or volunteered to help that day.
We have started doing yoga in our classrooms. This helps students to refocus and relax after having a busy academic day. January menus are being sent home today and are due by December 23rd. Also, if you were unable to attend conferences, report cards are being sent home in Friday folders!
Have a wonderful weekend!

Dear Parents,
We started off our week with a responsibility assembly. We also celebrated students who were respectful throughout the month of September. Those students had pizza with the principal on Thursday. Please make sure appropriate forms are filled out for picture day which is next Wednesday (October 12, 2016). October 14, 2016 will be a half day for students, and dismissal is at 12:00. We received homework from several students on time, however we are aiming for 100% completion. All homework, with the exception of the reading log, is due by the following Friday in order for students to receive a participation grade. The reading log is due on the last Friday of the month. Please note that Raz-Kids and Moby Max login directions are in Friday folders. Enjoy your weekend!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Fannin & Ms. Becky
