Meet the Teachers!
Welcome to the Plum Room! My name is Jordan Fannin and this is my third year teaching at American Montessori Academy. I am originally from Ohio and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Education from Ohio University. My husband’s job relocated us to Michigan and I am now privileged to teach at AMA! I have a passion for helping children learn to become better readers and writers. I am thrilled to be teaching reading, writing, and social studies to two groups of students again this year! In addition to my love of learning and teaching, I enjoy playing volleyball and basketball, as well as traveling.
I am extremely excited to see my returning students as well as several new faces this year! My goal as your child’s teacher is to see every student grow and reach his or her fullest potential, as well as challenge students to become responsible and respectful leaders of our school. I have always loved school, both as a student and as an educator, and I am passionate to make learning meaningful and enjoyable for my students.
Communication between home and school is crucial for students’ success in the classroom. I will certainly do my best to keep you updated on your child’s progress and will update our classroom website weekly so you can stay up to date with what your child is learning in school. Please feel free to contact me with questions, concerns, or any information you feel is important to share with me.
Once again, I look forward to getting to know your child and family. Together, I know we can make this a wonderful school year!
Sincerely,
Jordan Fannin

Dear Families,
Welcome to the 2016-2017 school year. My name is Rebecca Croskey, and I am entering my sixteenth year of teaching. I obtained my Bachelor's degree at Michigan State University in Deaf Education. I am dually certified to teach in both general and special education classrooms, and I have spent most of my career teaching at the elementary level. I completed my Master's degree at University of Virginia in Curriculum and Planning with a focus on Social Studies education.
I feel extremely privileged to be a part of American Montessori Academy. I enjoy being a part of each student's education and watching them grow academically. I strive to make our classroom a place where each student feels respected and important. As a class, we create a safe environment for students to express their thoughts and opinions which promotes self-confidence and student learning.
I look forward to meeting every family this year. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at [email protected]
